Free Support for Immigrants in Western WA

Free Support for Immigrants in Western WA

Worried about going to the biometrics appointment for your immigration case alone? Nervous about going to the courthouse or licensing office? Help is available, and it’s free!

The Church Council of Greater Seattle (CCGS) is a non-profit organization based in King County that offers free accompaniment services in English and Spanish. Their trained and trustworthy volunteers can offer their support for the following types of appointments:

  • USCIS appointments, such as biometrics (fingerprints) and interviews for immigration cases
  • Ankle bracelet monitoring check-ins
  • ISAP check-ins
  • Administrative appointments in King County for driver’s licenses & state IDs, social security cards, passports, name changes, and food stamps
  • State court proceedings (non-immigration court) if there is a fear of being picked up by ICE
  • Navigating & accessing Covid-19 relief resources
  • Other types of appointments are considered on a case-by-case basis

CCGS also offers help with translations, making family emergency plans (such as when an undocumented parent is detained), and tech support (such as how to use tools like Zoom).

CCGS is partnering with the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) to offer accompaniment throughout the region.   To learn more details or request support, check out their flyer here.
