On September 10, 2021, the Department of Homeland Security announced the extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan through December 31, 2022. TPS beneficiaries from these countries will automatically retain their status and work authorization, as long as they continue to meet all eligibility requirements. There is no need to re-register or apply for a new work permit. If you have a TPS-based work permit and need proof that your work authorization has been automatically extended, you can direct your employer to the announcement on USCIS’s website.
