Trump’s Executive Order on Immigration – April 22, 2020
WHAT: New immigration into the U.S. is suspended for 60 days for some categories of people who are not currently in the U.S.
WHO IS INCLUDED IN THE ORDER: People OUTSIDE the U.S. right now who don’t already have a visa as of April 22, 2020
WHO IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORDER:
- Spouses and children under 21 of U.S. citizens
- Green card applicants who are already in the U.S.
- Lawful Permanent Residents (“green card” holders)
- Persons with USCIS cases pending inside the U.S.
- Non-immigrant visa applicants (such as U Visas, visitor visas, H2B visas, etc.)
- S. Military members, spouses, and children
- Medical professionals and scientists working on COVID-19
- EB-5 Investors and National Interests Visa applicants
- SI or SQ special immigrant categories
- Adoptees in the IR-4 or IH-4 categories
