TPS Extended for El Salvador, Ukraine, Venezuela, & Sudan

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced that it will extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for citizens of El Salvador, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Sudan. The extension periods are as follows:

    • El Salvador: from March 10, 2025 through September 9, 2026.

    • Ukraine: from April 20, 2025 through October 19, 2026.

    • Venezuela: through April 3, 2025 through October 2, 2026.

    • Sudan: from April 20, 2025 through October 19, 2026.

If you have TPS and are from one of these countries, you will need to re-register for TPS to have your status and work authorization extended. For Salvadorans, you must re-register during the 60-day re-registration period from January 17, 2025 through March 18, 2025. If you would like our help with your re-registration application, please give us a call.

DHS has not yet announced when they will accept re-registration applications for TPS recipients from Ukraine, Venezuela, or Sudan, but we will let you know as soon as we have more information.

This extension only applies to TPS recipients from El Salvador, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Sudan. It does not affect TPS recipients from Afghanistan, Burma, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Haiti, Honduras, Lebanon, Nepal, Nicaragua, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, or Yemen.
