Global Law Advocates is pleased to announce our Poetry Project, a showcase about the experience of immigration. We will post poems on our website and publish poems in our newsletter. For more information about submitting poems, please see below.

The first round of poems, below, were all written by students at Foster High School in Tukwila, Washington who participated in ‘The Stories of Arrival: Refugee and Immigrant Youth Voices Poetry Project’ co-directed by Merna Ann Hecht and Carrie Stradley (for more information, you can visit These poems are from the Project’s book “Our Table of Memories: Food & Poetry of Spirit, Homeland & Tradition,” published in 2015.

We encourage you to submit a poem (or several!). All may participate; the only requirement is the general theme of immigration. If you submit a poem, you will need to sign a release form giving permission to Global Law Advocates to print the poem. We will not be able to pay anyone for the use of their poems.
